If you are a regular Pittsburgh Lumber Co. reader, you may have noticed two things over the past couple weeks. 1.) I haven't been writing much, and 2.) The site layout has changed dramatically. Well, those two things are connected. I have spent much of my free time tweaking colors and adding new features. There is still work to be done, but I thought I should update everyone on some of the changes here at PLC.

Paul Maholm was solid over seven innings and the Pirates offense woke up late to conclude the 2010 home schedule with a win. Pedro Alvarez continued his hot hitting with three safeties and two RBI.
It was a weird game all around. The Pirates were up early despite few hits. Houston rallied against the Pittsburgh bullpen. There were 24 hits in the game, but only one homer. And that bomb was delivered by Andy LaRoche. Add it up and you get the Pirates dropping their 100th game of the year.
Kyle Lohse came into the contest with a 5-0 career mark against Pittsburgh. It didn't take long to blemish that mark. Pittsburgh scored six times off Lohse in three innings to win their fifth straight game.
The body is on the slab and it is barely cold, but it is time to put the corpse known as the 2010 Pittsburgh Pirates to rest. This season was one for the history books, but not the good kind of history. But the strange part is that I still have hope.
