Pirates Prospect Watch: Termarr Johnson Walks Three Times in Latest AFL Game

Published:

Termarr Johnson walked three times on Friday night in the Arizona Fall League.

In his third game played, Johnson led off and played shortstop. He drew walks in the third, seventh, and ninth innings, but didn’t score a run as Scottsdale was held to one on the evening.

Johnson homered in his first AFL contest. He hit a triple in his second game on Thursday. After this game, he has a 1.500 OPS in a small sample. It’s good to see Johnson off to a hot start in this league.

ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE

SCOTTSDALE lost 6-1

  • SS Termarr Johnson: 0-for-2, 3 BB
  • C Geovanny Planchart: 1-for-4
  • RHP Valentin Linarez: 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K

Geovanny Planchart went 1-for-4, batting ninth and starting behind the plate. It was his second start at catcher, and the second game where he got a hit. Planchart singled in the third inning, and moved to second on a Termarr Johnson walk. Valentin Linarez pitched 1.1 perfect innings, and was one of two Scottsdale pitchers without a run.

STATCAST HEROES

Linarez sat 95 MPH with his fastball, touching 96.8. He threw the fastball six times. He didn’t have any whiffs on the night. He threw his sinker twice and his slider once.
