P2Daily: Previewing This Week’s Pirates Minor League Opponents

Published:

It’s a short week with three games for the Indianapolis Indians. Neither the Indians or the Columbus Clippers are in the playoff hunt, but that doesn’t make it any less an exciting week.

The best part about this matchup is what is to come in 2023. Both the Pirates affiliate and the Cleveland Guardians affiliate are loaded with Top 100 prospects along with many other Top 30 prospects.

The Clippers carry three consensus Top 100 players, with an additional prospect showing up on Baseball America’s Top 100. The Clippers roster consists of five of the Guardians Top 10 prospects, or three of their Top 5.

By this point, the opposing squads should know each other very well as they also faced each other on many occasions between the Altoona Curve and Akron Rubberducks.

Again, this should be a great opener for what should be some electric lineups to start the 2023 season.
