Top Performers: Max Moroff Has Some Impressive Active Hitting Streaks

Published:

[tps_header]Each week we take a look back at the top performers in the Pittsburgh Pirates’ minor league system from the previous week, highlighting the pitchers with the best Game Scores and the hitters with the most runs created. Below are the top five pitchers and hitters from last week, including stats and notes on each player.[/tps_header]

Matt Benedict 2

Matt Benedict, Bradenton – 76 GS (5/4)

Line: 7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 K, 0 HR

Notes: Benedict had the best start in the system this week, falling just shy of Tyler Glasnow’s outing last week for the best start this year. His time in the Bradenton rotation could be over. He pitched an inning in relief this past weekend, and with the recent addition of Jayson Aquino, he could lose his spot for good. He was filling in as an organizational guy to begin with, so his time in the rotation was always going to be short-lived.
