Top Performers: Max Moroff Has Some Impressive Active Hitting Streaks

Erich Weiss 2

Erich Weiss, 2B, Bradenton – 7.50 RC

Stats: 11-for-24, 2B, 3B, 4 BB

Notes: The Pirates went over-slot to sign Weiss in the 11th round of the 2013 draft, taking him because they liked the bat. They moved him to second base, over from his third base position in college, where his gap power profiles better. He had a good week this past week, with a double, triple, and four walks. On the season he has a .312/.392/.413 line in 109 at-bats, showing a great ability to hit for average and get on base, but not a lot of power. The lack of power currently makes him look like a utility player at best.
