Game Recap:

GAME ONE: Bradenton had to wait a long time to suffer a walk-off loss. Yesterday game was suspended in the fourth inning. They completed it today and lost 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth inning on a walk-off two-run homer. Valentin Linarez started yesterday and got through three innings before the weather interrupted. He allowed two runs on one hit, while striking out seven batters. When play resumed, Dante Mendoza lowered his ERA to 1.61 with three shutout innings, striking out four batters. Jack Hartman threw a scoreless seventh. Darvin Garcia tossed a shutout eighth, but he gave up the two run homer in the ninth without recording an out. Tsung-Che Cheng returned yesterday and had a hit and his tenth stolen base. He was scheduled to be off today, so he was replaced when play resumed. Jase Bowen hit his eighth homer and stole his 13th base. Deivis Nadal had a single, double, two RBIs and his fourth steal.

GAME TWO: The second game on Thursday night went seven innings and it wasn’t as close as the first game. Starter Joelvis Del Rosario was doing well until he allowed four runs in the fourth inning, which was more than enough for Fort Myers in their 6-1 victory. De Rosario now has a 3.38 ERA in 45.1 innings with 46 strikeouts. He had his ERA down to 2.62 before that fourth frame. Johan Montero went 1.1 scoreless. Brennan Malone gave up a single, two-run homer and hit a batter on five pitches before he was removed, leaving with the trainer, which is potentially bad news. Cristian Charle finished off the sixth. Jase Bowen had two of Bradenton’s four hits, including his ninth double. He also stole his 14th and 15th bases. Rodolfo Nolasco had a rough 0-for-7, five strikeout night between the two games.
