Notes: Indianapolis didn’t get a great performance from their pitching staff tonight, losing 10-4. Sean Gallagher (0-2, 8.00) had a rough start, allowing five runs on six hits, with three walks and four strikeouts. Justin Thomas (3.18) allowed two more runs in two innings. Daniel Moskos (0.00) was the only pitcher who didn’t allow a run, pitching a perfect inning, and striking out one. Chris Leroux (15.00) allowed three runs in an inning of work.
The offense got a lot of production, but not when it counted, leaving ten men stranded. Dusty Brown (.333) went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, his second homer of the year. Andrew Lambo (.167) went 3-for-4 with a double. Andy Marte (.182), Alex Presley (.483), and Corey Wimberly (.444) all had multi-hit games.

Notes: Altoona lost a one run game, falling 3-2 to the Akron Zips after failing at a ninth inning comeback. Jeremy Farrell (.423) started the inning reaching on a fielding error, and moved to second on a passed ball. He eventually scored on a Brock Holt (.333) single, putting Altoona behind 3-2. Starling Marte (.367) followed with a single, putting runners at first and second with two outs. However, Jordy Mercer (.115) left them stranded, striking out to end the game. Holt and Farrell provided the bulk of the offense, combining for five of Altoona’s six hits, and two of their five walks.
Jeff Locke (0-2, 1.93) got the start, allowing two runs on seven hits in 4.2 innings, with a walk and six strikeouts. Locke took the loss, due to a lack of support. Anthony Claggett (9.00) allowed one run on four hits and two walks in 2.1 innings. Tom Boleska (0.00) pitched a shutout inning, allowing a walk and a hit, and striking out one.

Notes: Matt McSwain (1-1, 4.00) and Eliecer Navarro (12.27) combined to allow nine runs in five innings, which put Bradenton behind in this game. McSwain gave up seven runs, four earned, in four innings. Navarro followed that up with two runs in an inning of work. Jeffrey Inman (0.00) followed them with three shutout innings, allowing three hits. So far this season, Inman has five shutout innings, with five hits allowed, no walks, and one strikeout. Diego Moreno (0.00) pitched a shutout inning, allowing one hit and striking out one.

Notes: The West Virginia pitching staff was hit hard tonight. Brandon Cumpton (0-2, 15.75) had his second rough outing in a row, allowing seven runs on seven hits in four innings. Kevin Decker (6.00) followed that up by allowing four runs on five hits in three innings. Zach Foster (6.75) topped it all off with two runs in two innings of work.
The offense didn’t give them much support. Gift Ngoepe (.154) hit his first home run of the season, a solo shot. Matt Curry (.556) had the only other West Virginia hits, going 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Dan Grovatt (.250) went 0-for-2 with a walk, a run, and a stolen base.
