Anthony Rendon Live: Game Three

Published:

Rendon went 1-for-4 today.

Today, Rice and East Carolina wrapped up their three game series, giving me my last look at Anthony Rendon.  After walking five times in the first two games, all intentional, Rendon went 1-for-4 today, with one strikeout.

In his first at-bat, Rendon went down looking at a breaking ball on the outside part of the plate.  He struck out looking twice yesterday, with all of the pitches being close.  That could be a concern going forward, although I hesitate to make any major judgements based on three games.

Rendon came through with his second hit of the series in his next at-bat, lining an RBI single to center field.  He got the bat on the ball in his final two at-bats, grounding out to third in the fifth, then flying out to center field, about 380 feet deep, in the eighth inning.

His hit, and his fly out to center were both well struck, and it’s worth noting that the air is a little heavy here, after a lot of rain the last two evenings.

I’ll have my interview with Rendon up on the site tomorrow, followed by video of his performance this weekend, which will go up on Tuesday.
