Today Stetson Allie pitched at Pirate City, working in an inter-squad, simulated game. Allie rotated with Bryton Trepagnier, with both throwing about two innings each. I’ll have video of Trepagnier later, and Allie’s video is below.
Allie’s control was horrible, nearly hitting a few batters, including Willy Garcia twice in a row. He was hit pretty hard at first, with Garcia lining a triple down the first base line, then scoring on a wild pitch. Chase Lyles followed that with a deep home run to left field, which ended Allie’s first inning of work.
Allie was throwing 90-95 MPH. He was throwing around 94-95 MPH from the windup, and 90-92 MPH from the stretch. I don’t think he threw anything but fastballs. Here is the video of his outing. Just for reference, the rapid clicking you hear during the first few pitches was my camera, taking pictures like the one you see to the right. Multi-tasking!
