Jeff Locke will make his tenth start for Indianapolis tonight. He has also pitched once for Bradenton and once for the Pirates. Locke has thrown 50 innings for Indianapolis, giving up 51 hits, five homers and 22 walks. He has 37 strikeouts, a 1.63 GO/AO ratio and a .263 BAA. In his last start, Locke gave up five runs on ten hits and two walks in five innings. In each of his two starts prior, he allowed five walks.

Stolmy Pimentel will make a rehab start with Altoona tonight. He pitched two scoreless innings for Bradenton on June 2nd, giving up one walk and no hits, while striking out two batters. He has been on the disabled list since May 3rd with right shoulder inflammation.

Jason Creasy will make his 13th start of the season tonight, the first Pirates minor league pitcher to reach that total. He has thrown 54.2 innings, allowing 56 hits, three homers and 12 walks. Creasy has 41 strikeouts, an 0.89 GO/AO ratio and a .267 BAA. In his last start, he threw six shutout innings and struck out seven batters, his season high. He has already started eight time on the road this year, posting a 3.68 ERA in 36.2 innings

Buddy Borden will make his 12th start of the season tonight. He has thrown 51.1 innings, allowing 37 hits, three homers and 21 walks. He has 45 strikeouts, a 1.16 GO/AO ratio and a .196 BAA. In his last start, he gave up three runs over five innings and failed to strikeout a batter. He was averaging nearly a strikeout per inning going into the game. Borden has been equally as tough against right-handed and left-handed batters, holding both to a sub-.200 average.
