Yesterday’s Result: Indianapolis was rained out
Due to consecutive rainouts, Jeff Locke is current listed as the starter for Indianapolis, with Casey Sadler now listed for Thursday. Locke injured an oblique during Spring Training and missed the start of the season. He made one rehab start for Bradenton before being sent to Indianapolis. In that start, he went six innings, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk, while striking out ten batters. If Casey Sadler starts, he will make his third start of the season. He went six innings in his debut against Columbus, allowing one run on four hits and a walk, with three strikeouts. Sadler lasted seven innings in his second game, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks, with five strikeouts. He made 23 starts for Altoona and one late season start for Indianapolis. Sadler threw a total of 136.1 innings, allowing 123 hits, 12 homers and 43 walks. He had 72 strikeouts, a 1.69 GO/AO ratio and a .244 BAA. In his lone Indianapolis start, he allowed three earned runs over six innings.

Adrian Sampson will make his third start of the season tonight. He went six innings in his debut, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks. He had six strikeouts in the game, one short of his career high. In his second outing, he went five innings and gave up one run on three hits and two walks, with four strikeouts. Sampson pitched for Bradenton last year, throwing a total of 140 innings over 25 starts and one relief appearance. He gave up 177 hits, 18 homers and 22 walks. He had 85 strikeouts, a 1.11 GO/AO ratio and a .310 BAA

John Kuchno will make his third start of the season tonight. He has had night and day results in his two outings. In his debut, Kuchno threw five no-hit innings. He allowed three walks and struck out two batters. In his second game, he lasted just 3.2 innings, giving up seven runs(six earned) on nine hits and one walk, with four strikeouts. All but one of his outs have been either by ground out or strikeout.

Probable starter: Buddy Borden (0-0, 3.00) and Cody Dickson (1-1, 5.59)

Buddy Borden will make his third start of the season tonight. He went four innings in his debut, allowing three runs on three hits, one homer and two walks, while striking out five batters. In his second start, Borden threw five shutout innings. He allowed six hits, one walk and struck out four batters. Cody Dickson will get the start in game two for West Virginia. He threw five shutout innings in his debut against Lexington, then six days later, Lexington scored six runs on ten hits in 4.2 innings against Dickson. He has zero walks and ten strikeouts this year.
