Shortstop prospect Brock Holt is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a torn MCL. Holt has not played since he was injured in a collision with second baseman Adenson Chourio on June 5th. The 22-year-old hit .351/.410/.438 in 218 plate appearances with High-A Bradenton, and was named to the Florida State League All-Star team.

UPDATE (6/20/2010, 2:30 PM): Via a Rob Biertempfel tweet, Neal Huntington says that Holt’s MCL is not torn and that surgery will not be required. No other details are known.

UPDATE (6/22/2010, 9:30 PM): Dejan reports that Holt’s MCL is sprained but his meniscus is torn. He will undergo surgery and miss the rest of the season.
