Game Notes: Indianapolis won thanks to three homers on the night. Josh Harrison hit his first of the year. Brett Carroll hit his eighth of the year. Jerry Sands hit his first of the year. In his last ten games, Sands is hitting for a .257 average and an .852 OPS. He’s been hitting lefties this year, going 6-for-27 with two doubles and tonight’s homer. Tony Sanchez went 1-for-4 with a double, giving him seven doubles in his last eight games. He has a .305 average and a .932 OPS on the year. Game Notes: Jeff Karstens made his second rehab start, throwing 62 pitches and 40 strikes over four innings. Karstens gave up two unearned runs in the first inning after an error by Alex Dickerson extended the inning. Karstens went on to give up two singles and two walks in the inning, leading to the two runs. From there he was perfect over the next three innings. Gift Ngoepe hit his second homer of the year. Andrew Lambo hit his eighth homer of the year.

Game Notes: The Marauders only had three hits on the night. This was the third time Adrian Sampson faced St. Lucie this season. In his previous two starts he combined for three earned runs in nine innings. Kurt Yacko made his debut in the Pirates’ organization, giving up three runs in three innings. Gregory Polanco is hitting for a .319/.396/.638 line in 47 at-bats in May.

Game Notes: John Kuchno had his worst start since his second outing of the season. Between those outings he went 25 innings, giving up just five earned runs. His last start was seven days ago, so the extra time off might have played a part in him having an off night. Stetson Allie added another extra base hit in game two, giving him three total in his last ten games.
