The regular seasons for the Venezuelan, Dominican, Puerto Rican, and Mexican-Pacific winter leagues are all completed. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done an update, so here are the top performers in the Pirates’ system from each league. Click on the league names to see the complete stats for all Pirates’ players who played in the league:
-Ronny Cedeno had 138 at-bats, hitting for a .261/.280/.384 line and four homers. His hitting was decent, although he only drew one walk the entire season.
-Jose Tabata played the final two weeks, and hit for a .317/.491/.439 line in 41 at-bats.
-Anthony Claggett pitched 24.2 innings, with a 1.82 ERA and a 16:5 K/BB ratio.
-Jose Ascanio pitched 9.2 innings, with a 1.86 ERA and a 3:1 K/BB ratio.
-Jhonathan Ramos pitched 13.2 innings, with a 2.63 ERA and a 9:5 K/BB ratio.
-Pedro Ciriaco hit for a .247 average, which led the five Pirates’ hitters in the league. The other hitters were Andy Marte, Starling Marte, Dusty Brown, and Jason Jaramillo.
-Charlie Morton made three starts, with a 1.80 ERA in 15 innings, and a 14:2 K/BB ratio.
-Michael Dubee pitched 19.2 innings, with a 2.75 ERA and a 16:9 K/BB ratio.
-Cesar Valdez pitched 39.2 innings, mostly as a starter, with a 4.31 ERA and a 23:12 K/BB ratio.
-Corey Wimberly hit for a .266/.361/.351 line in 94 at-bats in the Mexican Pacific League.
-The Australian league is still running, and the regular season completes on January 22nd. Quincy Latimore currently has a .354/.404/.616 line in 99 at-bats, with five homers. Rinku Singh has a 3.86 ERA in 14 innings, along with a 13:14 K/BB ratio.
