Winter Meeting Notes: Oliver, Rule 5

Published:

Two links for you this morning, as the 2012 MLB Winter Meetings are close to wrapping up.

**Jason Beck of MLB.com has an article on the Andy Oliver trade. In the article he quotes Dave Dombrowski, who notes that Oliver had trouble throwing strikes. Dombrowski also noted that a change in scenery could help Oliver.

**Vlad at Bucs Dugout has a great Rule 5 draft preview, if you’re interested in reading some of the names who are available in today’s draft. Carlos Perez is a guy who looks interesting to me. I also like Kyle Heckathorn, mostly because I’ve been vaguely following his career since before the 2009 draft.
