Jameson Taillon gets the start for Altoona tonight. Barring an unlikely promotion to Indianapolis for the playoffs, this will be his last game of the season. The DSL Pirates1 won the second round of their playoffs yesterday and will now go on to play the winner of the Yankees/Angels series in a best of three series for the DSL championship. The start date of that series is tentatively scheduled for Monday. The GCL Pirates won the GCL championship Wednesday. Indianapolis will begin their playoffs next week. In his last start, he gave up two runs on five hits and one walk in five innings. In his previous two starts combined, Rick allowed just one earned run over 15.1 innings. In his first start on 8/12, he allowed two runs on three hits and a walk, in four innings. In his last start six days ago, he allowed just one run on three hits over six innings. On the year, he has pitched a total of 75.2 innings, allowing 65 hits, seven homers, 26 walks and he has 46 strikeouts, with a 1.07 GO/AO ratio and a .230 BAA.

Clay Holmes will make his 13th start of the season tonight. He has pitched a total of 54.1 innings, allowing 29 hits, one homer, 29 walks and he has 33 strikeouts. Clay has a 1.42 GO/AO ratio and a .161 BAA. After two straight rough outings, Holmes rebounded in his last start(against Jamestown) to throw five shutout innings, allowing just two hits and one walk. Clay has recorded just one strikeout in each of his last three outings.
