Minor League Schedule: 6/14/12

Gerrit Cole will make his last start before the Florida State League All-Star break. He has faced Ft Myers(today’s opponent) two times already this year, allowing a total of four earned runs on 11 hits, with 11 strikeouts in 11 innings. Indianapolis was off last night. Jeff Locke will make his 12th start of the year tonight. He has pitched a total of 66 innings, giving up 62 hits, five homers and 14 walks while striking out 60 batters. In his last start, Jeff went five innings, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks. In his last four starts, Locke has struck out 30 batters in 25.1 innings. He is holding batters to a .250 average, which includes .181 with no homers from the left side. On the road this season, he is 0-2 3.93 in 34.1 innings over six starts.

Nate Baker will make his 12th start of the season tonight. He has also made one relief appearance. He has pitched a total of 57.1 innings, allowing 53 hits, 33 walks and he has struck out 30 batters. In his last ten starts, he has walked one batter five times, and the in the other five games, he has walked at least four batters. At home this season, Nate is 2-2 3.81 in 26 innings. In his last start, Baker went 5.2 innings, allowing two runs on four hits. He has allowed just three homers this year and he is holding batters to a .244 average.

Gerrit Cole will take the mound for the 13th time this season. He has pitched a total of 62 innings, giving up 50 hits, five homers and 19 walks with 62 strikeouts. In his last start, Cole gave up three runs in five innings on six hits and no walks. On the road this year, he is 1-1 3.10 in six starts, with 33 K’s in 29 innings. Gerrit has a 1.70 GO/AO ratio and a .220 BAA.

Probable starter: Robby Rowland (2-1 2.86)

Robbie Rowland will get his fifth start of the season and his second one at home. He has pitched a total of 22 innings on the year, allowing 22 hits, no homers, four walks and he has ten strikeouts. In his last start, Robby went five innings, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks. In his only home start so far(5/29), he gave up two runs in six innings against Lakewood. Rowland has a 1.90 GO/AO and a .247 BAA.
