The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired infielder Drew Sutton from the Atlanta Braves organization on Sunday in exchange for cash considerations. Sutton will be assigned to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Sutton, 28, played in 38 games for Triple-A Gwinnett where he hit .270 with 19 runs, 10 doubles, two triples and 15 RBI.
The infielder has spent the parts of three seasons in the Majors, the last coming in 2011 with the Boston Red Sox. He’s hit .258 over 159 at-bats in the big leagues.
