Justin Wilson will be making his fifth start of the season tonight. He is the team leader in strikeouts with 22 but he has also walked 14 batters, more than double the amount of anyone else on the Indianapolis staff. In his last start on 4/23, he allowed three runs in five innings, giving up five hits, five walks and striking out five batters. In his second start of the season, he struck out seven without allowing a single walk in 6.2 innings. Left-handed batters are hitting .125 against him with seven strikeouts.

Kris Johnson will be making his first start of the season for Altoona. He started the Wednesday day game for Indianapolis but pitched just two innings, throwing 42 total pitches. He has pitched a total of 10.1 innings between Altoona and Indy, allowing one run on nine hits, five walks and he struck out eight. Johnson spent six years in the Red Sox organization, topping out at AAA before signing with the Pirates this past off-season. Mike Colla will get his fifth start of the season in game two today. He allowed just one earned run in each of his last two outings, both coming against Harrisburg. Mike is tied for the team lead in strikeouts(15) with reliever Kris Harvey. He also leads the team in hits allowed(24), runs allowed(15) and home runs allowed with three.

Jameson Taillon will get his fifth start of the season tonight. In all four of his starts this season, he has recorded six strikeouts. He has yet to allow more than four hits in a game and has walked just three batters all season. Jameson’s 0.80 WHIP is the lowest on the team and third lowest in the Florida State League. Batters are hitting .176 against him this year.
Low-A: West Virginia (7-15) VS Greensboro (15-7) 2:05pm

Ryan Hafner will make his just second start of the season today after missing the beginning of the season recovering from a hamstring injury. In his opening start, he allowed seven runs(six earned) in three innings of work, striking out three while giving up five hits and two walks. The Pirates 17th round draft pick in 2010, was ranked 30th overall in the Pirates Prospects 2012 Prospect Guide. He pitched last season for State College, where he went 2-6 3.15 in 69.2 innings. He struck out 31 batters and walked twenty.
