Minor League Schedule: 4/27/12

Indianapolis had off yesterday. They resume their schedule tonight, with a four game series in Durham.  Matt McSwain is starting for Altoona in place of Aaron Pribanic, who was placed on the disabled list with a right shoulder injury. West Virginia has won two straight after losing seven in a row. A full recap of yesterday’s games can be found here.

Kingham has struggled in three of his four starts

Triple-A: Indianapolis (9-10) @ Durham (6-15) 7:05pm
Probable starter: Jo-Jo Reyes (2-0 3.27)

Yesterday’s Result: Indianapolis was off yesterday

Jo-Jo Reyes will get his third start of the season tonight, he has also made one relief appearance. He threw five shutout innings in his last start on 4/21, allowing just three hits and two walks. In his first start of the season on 4/15, he went 5.2 innings, giving up two runs on seven hits, with no walks and five strikeouts. Tim Williams will be covering the four game series in Durham this weekend.

Double-A: Altoona (8-10) @ Akron (11-6) 7:05pm
Probable starter: Matt McSwain (1-0 7.00)

Matt McSwain will make his first start of the season tonight. He has pitched five times in relief, pitching a total of nine innings, in which he has allowed seven runs on 15 hits with four walks and seven strikeouts. In his first three outings of the season, Matt threw a combined 5.2 scoreless innings. On 4/20, McSwain pitched 1.1 inning, giving up eight hits  and five runs. He has been in the organization since 2006.

High-A: Bradenton (8-12) @ Charlotte (11-9) 6:30pm
Probable starter: Tyler Waldron (1-1 7.24)

Yesterday’s Result: Bradenton 0 Jupiter 1

Tyler Waldron will be making his third start of the season tonight, he has also made two relief appearances. In his last start on 4/22 he allowed seven earned runs on seven hits and a walk in just two innings. In Tyler’s previous start, six days earlier, he threw five shutout innings, striking out a season high, five batters. Prior to that outing, on 4/11, he allowed just one run in four innings of relief work.

Low-A: West Virginia (7-13) VS Savannah (11-10) 7:05pm
Probable starter: Nick Kingham (0-0 10.24)

Yesterday’s Result: West Virginia 9 Savannah 4

Nick Kingham will be making his fifth start of the season tonight. He has made it through three innings just once this year. In his last start on 4/21 he went 2.2 innings, giving up one run on three hits and two walks. It was the third time he was pulled mid-inning due to reaching his pitch count limit for an inning. In 9.2 innings on the year, Nick has allowed 16 hits, seven walks and he has struck out seven batters.
