The minor league day started with Altoona getting postponed. The Pirates also got postponed right around the same time. The Curve will have a doubleheader tomorrow. Greensboro had a doubleheader today due to rain yesterday, but rain got them in the second game. They will try for a doubleheader on Saturday. Thomas Harrington had a terrific fourth start of the season.

Osvaldo Bido was doing well until tonight’s game nearly doubled his season ERA. He gave up six runs on six hits and three walks in 3.1 innings, with the only upside being that he had seven strikeouts. He threw 86 pitches, with 56 going for strikes. John O’Reilly followed with the final two outs of the fourth, but not before he allowed a run on three hits.
Chase De Jong made his second rehab appearance. He went two shutout innings on three hits and two strikeouts. Carmen Mlodzinski joined the game in the seventh. He went two shutout innings on a hit and a strikeout. Colin Selby took the ninth and threw a scoreless frame.
This game was a wind factory, with 27 total strikeouts, including 15 by Indianapolis hitters. They also committed three errors. Josh Palacios had a strong game, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and a homer. His brother Richie had three hits for Columbus, including a homer off of Bido.
Aaron Shackelford also homered, his first of the season. Indianapolis had 11 hits, but they stranded ten runners and went 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position.

Braxton Ashcraft’s return from Tommy John surgery saw its first bump in the road. After throwing shutout ball in his first three starts, while striking out 17 batters in 10.1 innings, he didn’t do so well on Friday. He allowed four runs on five hits in four innings, finishing with no walks and two strikeouts. He threw 41 of 58 pitches for strikes.
Dante Mendoza took over in the fifth inning of the seven-inning game. He tossed a scoreless frame. Oliver Mateo followed with a shutout inning, then Drew Irvine allowed two unearned runs in the seventh, though the runs were unearned due to his own error.
Greensboro had nothing going on offense. They reached base four times. Jackson Glenn had a double. Sammy Siani had a single. Will Mathiessen drew a walk. Hudson Head was hit by a pitch. They went 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position.

Thomas Harrington made his fourth pro start on Friday night. He threw shutout ball over six innings on three hits, three walks and four strikeouts. He threw a total of 77 pitches, with 48 going for strikes. He now has a 2.89 ERA through 18.2 innings, with 19 strikeouts.
Elijah Birdsong take over in the seventh. He threw two shutout innings on no hits, two walks and two strikeouts. Mike Walsh finished off the 7-0 win with a scoreless ninth.
This game was close until the late innings. Deivis Nadal provided the only run through the first six innings with a solo homer, his second of the year. A Jesus Castillo single in the seventh brought home two runs. Tres Gonzalez walked with the bases loaded for a 4-0 lead.
Geovanny Planchart made in 5-0 with an RBI double. He then scored on a sacrifice fly by Castillo. Gonzalez brought home the final run with his first homer. Nadal and Planchart had two hits each. Rodolfo Nolasco hit his fourth double and walked twice.
Alexander Mojica walked twice and struck out three times in five plate appearances. Shalin Polanco had four strikeouts.
