Endy Rodriguez
It didn’t take for Endy Rodriguez to kick things off for the 2023 season. On the very first pitch he saw, the Pirates’ top prospect launched a two-run home run to give the Indianapolis Indians a 2-0 led.

Travis Swaggerty
One of the better performers in major league camp for the Pirates, Swaggerty also got off to a quick start, leading off the bottom of the first inning with a double. He would later score on the Rodriguez home run.

Nick Gonzales
The Pirates first round pick from 2020, Gonzales made the move up to Triple-A this year and picked up a couple of hits on Opening Day.

He would later add a double in the bottom of the ninth inning. He had batted balls with exit velocities of 105.2, 102.8, and 104 on the day.
