The Arizona Fall League announced the rosters for Sunday’s Fall-Stars game on Friday morning. The Pittsburgh Pirates will be represented by catcher Henry Davis, infielder Nick Gonzales and pitcher Quinn Priester.
Unlike a regular All-Star game, the Fall-Stars game highlights the top prospects in the league and results have no bearing on making the game. Priester, Davis and Gonzales are all top 100 prospects, so they were all selected.
Davis is playing the best of the trio, hitting .271/.431/.458 in 16 games, with six doubles and a homer. His OPS ranks 19th in the league, which is very hitter-friendly this season.
Gonzales is batting .238/.319/.460, with three doubles, a triple and three homers in 17 games. He has been playing second base, shortstop and third base.
Priester has a 6.63 ERA and a 1.53 WHIP in 19 innings, with 18 strikeouts and a .276 BAA. He is 50th among the 63 qualified pitchers (10.1+ IP) in the league in ERA.
The game will be played on Sunday at 4 PM ET and will be live streamed on MLB.com. IF the World Series ends Saturday night, the game will also be broadcast on MLB Network.
