Indianapolis lost a back-and-forth game to Toledo 8-7. Peter Solomon made his second start since joining the Pirates and allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits and three walks in 3.2 innings. Eric Hanhold took the loss with two runs allowed in two innings. Nick Mears tossed 1.1 scoreless. Blake Sabol had a strong game with three walks and his fourth homer since joining Indianapolis. Brendt Citta hit a two-run homer. Drew Maggi stole his 22nd base. Travis Swaggerty stole his 16th base. Mason Martin hit his 29th double, but he also struck out twice, setting a Pirates all-time minor league record for strikeouts in a season (178). Corey Pointer held the old record with 177 in 1998.

Game Recap:
Altoona got a strong start from Aaron Shortridge and a big game from Connor Scott to lead the club to a 6-1 win. Shortridge tossed seven shutout innings on three hits, one walk and three strikeouts. He has allowed one earned run in his last four starts combined, doing that is his first season since 2019 due to the lost 2020 season and Tommy John surgery last year. Scott came into the day with five homers and added two to that total, giving him seven on the season. He drove in four runs. Endy Rodriguez continues to do big things, even quietly tonight with a single and two walks. Matt Gorski drove in two runs. Liover Peguero had two singles, a walk and a run scored. Henry Davis played right field. Peguero and Nick Gonzales flipped positions. Altoona set their single-season record for homers with 142.
