Indianapolis (26-25) beat Omaha, 5-2. Bryse Wilson had a good start, going seven innings on 94 pitches. He allowed just three hits and a walk over seven innings. Two of the hits were home runs, accounting for two runs. Travis Swaggerty led the offense, accounting for all but one of the runs with a double and his fourth home run. He scored the first Indy run after the double and hit a three-run bomb to put them up, 4-2. He now has his OPS up to .801 (280/362/439) after a .506 April. Mason Martin had an RBI double, and Oneil Cruz reached twice, on a single and a hit batsman. Cam Vieaux threw an inning and a third, and Austin Brice got the last two outs.

Altoona (22-26) lost to Bowie, 3-2. Kyle Nicolas had a decent-ish start, giving up one earned run and one unearned in four and a third innings. He struck out six, but needed 84 pitches. Brad Case worked the last four and two-thirds, allowing one run. They both had help, as the Curve turned four double plays. The Altoona offense was hampered by the first four hitters — Matt Fraizer, Jared Triolo, Liover Peguero and Blake Sabol — going a combined 0-for-14. Triolo and Sabol did manage a walk and run scored each. The unstoppable Andres Alvarez had two doubles and took part in all four DPs. Matt Gorski had two singles.

Greensboro (21-27) lost to Wilmington, 4-3. Jared Jones once again had trouble going past three or four innings. In this one he gave up just a single and two walks through four shutout innings, then allowed three runs in the fifth before leaving with two out. Wandi Montout followed with two and a third shutout innings, fanning five. Greensboro initially had a 1-0 lead on Yoyner Fajardo’s second home run of the year. After they fell behind 3-1, Francisco Acuna tied the game with a two-run double in the seventh. In the top of the eighth, though, Eddy Yean threw a wild pitch that let the go-ahead run score from second. The Hoppers had a chance in the ninth when two singles put runners at first and second with nobody out. In imitation of the major league club, though, they had Eli Wilson try to sacrifice and he bunted into a double play, leaving the organizational track record on bunts at 100% stupid. Fajardo was the only Hopper with two hits, as they had only six. Hudson Head left the game after being hit by a pitch.
