Another quiet night of winter league action for the Pittsburgh Pirates, but all three of their prospects had at least one hit and a run scored. Here’s the recap with action coming from three different countries
On Sunday in the Dominican, Rodolfo Castro went 1-for-3 with a double, run scored and two walks. He’s now hitting .286/.467/.524 in seven games.
In Puerto Rico, Bligh Madris batted sixth and played DH. He went 1-for-4 with a run scored in his team’s 10-2 loss. All then of those opposing runs scored in the fifth inning. Madris went 2-for-3 with a walk in the season opener on Saturday.
In Mexico, Randy Romero went 2-for-4 with a run scored and his seventh stolen base. In 29 games, he’s hitting .301/.375/.336 in 113 at-bats. He ranks tenth in the league in runs, sixth in hits and eighth in stolen bases.
