Game Recap: Roansy Contreras made his first Triple-A start while still on a limited pitch count after returning from his forearm injury. He ran up that count early in this game, but still had a solid outing, going 3.2 innings on 65 pitches, with four hits, one walk, one run and six strikeouts. Matt Eckelman allowed one run in 2.1 innings. Shea Spitzbarth gave up one run in his only inning. Tyler Bashlor tossed a scoreless eighth. Indianapolis lost 4-3. They got their runs on a homer from Oneil Cruz in his first Triple-A game, as well as the 11th home run from Christian Bethancourt, which was a two-run shot. Rodolfo Castro doubled in his first game with Indianapolis and Mason Martin went 0-for-3, reaching once on a hit-by-pitch. Cruz also walked, stole a base and committed an error.
Indianapolis added eight prospects from Altoona for the final ten games of the 2021 season.

Game Recap: Luis Ortiz had an outstanding season with a 3.09 ERA and 113 strikeouts in 87.1 innings. He was even better in his playoff start on Wednesday night, going six innings, with one run on four hits and two walks, with nine strikeouts. That strikeout mark is two below his career high. Ortiz left with a 6-1 lead and that’s how the game ended. Nick Garcia tossed two shutout innings and struck out five batters. Oliver Mateo handled the ninth and struck out two batters. The Marauders got their first run on a Dariel Lopez sacrifice fly. Jack Herman and Ernny Ordonez each drove in runs with doubles in the second inning, then Maikol Escotto had an RBI single. The final runs scored in the third inning on a homer from Abrahan Gutierrez and an RBI ground out from Escotto.
Bradenton is up 2-0 in the best-of-five series.
