Game Recap: Wilkin Ramos went five innings on Monday morning, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits, two walks and three strikeouts. His last outing was one run over four innings, but he has mostly struggled this season. Jorge “no relation to Wilkin” Ramos took over in the sixth and tossed three shutout innings. Kelvin Disla took the ninth and threw scoreless ball in the 9-3 victory.
Juan Jerez, who was our top DSL prospect from the 2019 teams, hit two homers in this game and drove in three runs. He also added a single, giving him a .307 average and six homers. Luis Tejeda had two hits and drove in two runs. He hit his sixth double. Deion Walker hit a two-run homer, his first of the season. Angel Basabe had two hits and scored two runs. Despite putting up nine runs, the Pirates struck out 16 times in this game.

Game Recap: Sebastian Rodriguez got the start and he went five innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits and two walks, while striking out just one batter. He left with a 2-2 tie and Arlinthon De Dios took over. De Dios tossed two scoreless frames, before giving way to Alessandro Ercolani, who allowed four runs in two innings. On offense in the 6-3 loss, Sergio Campana reached base all four times up, with two singles, a walk and a HBP. He scored a run. The first career double by Brenden Dixon was the only extra-base hit. He also scored a run. Both Campana and Dixon scored on wild pitches. Luke Brown scored the other run on a sacrifice fly by Claudio Finol.

Game Recap: Starter Yoldin De La Paz came into this game with a 1.59 ERA in 22 innings, with 27 strikeouts and an 0.88 WHIP. He had a start on Monday that fell in line with those stats, going five innings, with one run on two hits and seven strikeouts. Eliecer Romero followed with two scoreless innings to close out the 4-1 win.
The Pirates scored all five of their runs in the third inning and it started with a throwing error from the catcher, which allowed Jesus Castillo to score. Javier Rivas singled in a run, then Omar Alfonzo hit a three-run homer, his first of his career. Castillo stole his tenth base. Ewry Espinal hit his third triple. The Pirates had just four hits in the game.

Game Recap: Roelmy Garcia had a very Roelmy Garcia performance. He was limited to two innings due to control, but he picked up three strikeouts, with one hit, two walks and no earned runs. He has pitched nine times now and only accumulated 18 innings, but he has 32 strikeouts. Eduardo Zapata followed with one run over three innings, and Rafael Mendez gave up an unearned run in his two innings, as the Pirates lost 4-1. The Pirates were being shutout until one out in the seventh, when a ground out by Samuel Escudero scored Eddy Rodriguez, who hit his first career triple. That was the only extra-base hit for the Pirates. Delfin Ramirez reached base both times up, with a single and a walk.
