Just three games on the schedule today, with all of the full-season teams off on Monday and the DSL games getting wiped away by weather. All of the DSL games are listed as canceled, not postponed, so it appears for now that they won’t be made up at a future date.

Game Recap: Po-Yu Chen had one of his worst pro outings. He gave up a run on five hits in five innings, with no walks and three strikeouts. It was just the second run that he has allowed. He has an 0.69 ERA in 26 innings, with no walks and 29 strikeouts. Braylon Bishop made his pro debut, leading off and playing center field. He played five innings and he went 0-for-2 at the plate. Bubba Chandler played his second game, serving as the DH both times. The Pirates tied this game up in the bottom of the seventh on a Wyatt Hendrie single after a lead-off double by Jackson Glenn. The Pirates also got a walk and a stolen base by Deion Walker in the inning, but they could win the game. The Braves scored five runs (four earned) in the eighth inning off of Yunior Thibo, who tossed scoreless sixth/seventh innings. Kevin Disla recorded the final out of the eighth. In the bottom of the eighth, the Pirates were unable to get a run across, giving them a 6-1 loss in game one of a doubleheader.

Recap: Wilkin Ramos had a strong outing on Monday in the second game of the doubleheader, going five innings in one run on four hits, two walks and eight strikeouts. His previous career high for strikeouts was six, which he did twice with the Oakland A’s in the DSL before joining the Pirates. Christian Charle took over in the sixth and tossed two shutout innings to pick up the 3-1 win.
The Pirates had just one hit in the first six innings and it resulted in a run. Francisco Quintero had an infield single. He moved to second on a wild pitch, third on a passed ball, then scored on a ground out by Fleury Nova. In the seventh, they scored much the same way. A hit-by-pitch was followed by a balk, wild pitch, walk, walk, ground out and an error. They ended up scoring three runs on one hit all game. Solomon Maguire walked twice. Juan Jerez stole his sixth base.

Game Recap: Sebastian Rodriguez made his second start since joining the FCL Pirates on Monday. He allowed one run over four innings on five hits, two walks and five strikeouts. He had a 0.00 ERA in ten innings in the DSL this year, then threw four shutout innings in his FCL debut, so this was the first earned run he has given up in 18 innings. Arlinthon De Dios followed with two shutout innings. Darvin Garcia took the seventh and finished off the 5-1 win.
The Pirates got the scoring started in the first on an RBI single by Rodolfo Nolasco, who also added his fifth double later in the game. Tsung-Che Cheng scored the second run on a wild pitch. Sergio Campana made it 4-0 in the first on a two-run single, one of two hits he had in the game. Deivis Nadal capped the scoring with an RBI ground out, as the Pirates did all of their damage in the first inning. Sixth round draft pick Mike Jarvis picked up his first two career hits. He had a double and a run scored.
