Jeff Locke and Jared Hughes to be Called Up?

Published:

The 2011 Indianapolis Indians season ended today, which means we will see a lot of call-ups tomorrow.  Two of those call-ups appear to be Jeff Locke and Jared Hughes, per a tweet from Daniel Moskos.

Locke has made four starts for the Indianapolis Indians, with a 1.93 ERA in 23.1 innings, along with a 19:7 K/BB ratio.  Earlier in the year he put up a 4.03 ERA in 125 innings at the AA level, with a 114:46 K/BB ratio.

Hughes has been excellent in the AAA bullpen, touching 96 MPH with his sinker.  He’s put up a 2.11 ERA in 42.2 innings, along with a 45:18 K/BB ratio.  Unlike Locke, Hughes is not on the 40-man roster, so a spot would have to be created.
