The Pittsburgh Pirates (65-88) have three games left on their road schedule. That last series begins tonight against the Milwaukee Brewers (83-70). Steven Brault will be on the mound for the Pirates, coming off of ten runs over 2.2 innings at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs last Friday. Brault has a 4.98 ERA in 103 innings, with a 1.49 WHIP, 84 strikeouts and a .266 BAA. He has already started four times against Milwaukee this year and hasn’t allowed more than two runs in any of those outings.
The Brewers are countering with veteran right-hander Chase Anderson, who has a 4.50 ERA in 128 innings, with 118 strikeouts and a 1.29 WHIP. He has faced the Pirates four times this season and allowed two runs each time. Anderson has a 3.68 ERA at home and 5.53 on the road.
So basically, the starters are going to allow two runs each this game and then the bullpens will decide the game.
