Bradenton Marauders� 12,� Jupiter Hammerheads� 8 (box)
Another hit-fest in Bradenton, as the Marauders hammered Jupiter again, scoring 3 runs in each of 4 innings.� The Marauders posted 16 hits, with everyone in the line-up recording at least one.� C Eric Fryer had 3 singles; 1B Calvin Anderson had 2 singles and 4 RBI, and 2B James Skelton drove in 4 runs, 3 of which came on� a home run.
Bradenton got started in the bottom of the 1st, scoring 3 runs when RF Robbie Grossman was hit by a pitch, and CF Starling Marte, LF Quincy Latimore, 3B Jeremy Farrell, and Anderson all singled.� After a walk to DH Jordan Newton and a single by SS Adenson Chourio, Skelton’s 3-run home run in the 2nd inning gave the Marauders a 6-1 lead.
Starter Tim Alderson pitched 5 innings.� He gave up one run in the 2nd inning on a double, a walk, and a single.� Alderson retired the side in the 1st, the 3rd, and the 4th, then gave up 2 more runs in the 5th on a double, two singles, and a sacrifice fly.� Tyler Cox took over for Alderson to begin the 6th, and he gave up another 2 runs on two singles and a double, and Jupiter had gotten close to the Marauders, 6-5.
The Marauders broke out with two more 3-run innings to pull well ahead.� In the 6th, the first three batters reached base — singles by Fryer and Newton, and a walk to Chourio, loading the bases.� Skelton’s sacrifice fly drove in Fryer, and Grossman’s sacrifice fly brought in Newton.� Starling Marte lined a single into center field, and Chourio scored.� Marte stole second base, then when the Jupiter catcher’s pick-off attempt went sailing into the outfield, Marte raced for third, rounded, and headed for the plate.� But the Marauders were allowed only 3 runs per inning in this game, and Marte was out at the plate.
The bottom of the 7th began with Latimore and Farrell both being hit by a pitch.� Both runners advanced a base on a wild pitch, then both scored on Anderson’s single in to left field.� Two more singles, by Fryer and Newton, brought in Anderson.
Craig Hansen relieved Cox, and began by retiring the side in the 7th.� He allowed 2 unearned runs in the 8th, on two fielding errors by Chourio, a walk, and a single.� Diego Moreno took the 9th, and allowed a run on a triple and a ground out.

Aberdeen Ironbirds� 3,� State College Spikes� 2 (box)
This game took “only” 11 innings, and it ended when the Ironbirds scored one run in the bottom of the 11th, on a double and an RBI single off reliever Justin Ennis.� Zac Fuesser had made the start for the Spikes, going into the 5th inning, and allowing one run on 3 hits and 4 walks, with 5 strikeouts.� The run came on a solo homer in the 2nd inning.� He had walked 2 batters with 2 outs in the 5th, when Fuesser was relieved by Mitch Fienemann. Fienemann hit the first batter he faced with a pitch, but then struck out the next batter to end the inning and leave the bases loaded.� He gave up a run in the 6th, on two doubles.�
The Spikes scored their first run in the top of the 2nd.� Three consecutive singles, by DH Matt Curry, RF Cole White, and 1B Gerlis Rodriguez loaded the bases, then 2B Kelson Brown’s sacrifice fly brought in Curry.� Curry walked in the 4th, but was caught stealing second base.� Brown singled in the 5th, but was erased in a double play.� The Spikes responded to the Ironbird’s 6th-inning run with a run in the top of the 7th, to tie the game again.� LF Adalberto Santos led off with a double, moved to third on a wild pitch, and scored on Rodriguez’s RBI single.
Four scoreless innings followed.� Reliever Jhonatan Ramos pitched 3 scoreless innings, allowing only a single in the 8th.� Justin Ennis gave up a single in the bottom of the 10th, but erased that runner with a double play.� C Miguel Mendez singled for the Spikes in the 8th, but was left stranded.� The Spikes went down in order in the 9th and the 10th, then 3B Andy Vasquez singled in the 11th, but was also left on base.� The Ironbirds sent everyone home in with their walk-off single in the bottom of the 11th.

West Virginia Power� 10,� Lexington Legends� 8 (box)
The Power came from behind, scoring 8 late-inning runs to slip past the Legends.� They also had a hit parade, with 14 hits for the Power and a combined 25 hits in the game.� SS Elevys Gonzalez led the way with 3 singles, and both CF Evan Chambers and LF Rogelios Noris homered for the Power.
The game did not begin well for starter Jason Erickson. He gave up a 3-run home run in the bottom of the 1st, then a 2-run homer in the 4th.� He got the first two outs but gave up 2 singles and a run in the 5th, and was relieved by Marc Baca. The first batter Baca faced hit a 2-run homer, and the Power were behind 8-2.
Two Power runs had come in during the 3rd inning.� 2B Jarek Cunningham singled, Chambers doubled, and Cunningham scored on 1B Aaron Baker’s RBI ground out.� DH Jose Hernandez’s sacrifice fly brought in Chambers.� Then the Power got their power going in the top of the 6th.� They loaded the bases on a walk by C Ramon Cabrera, Noris being hit by a pitch, and a single by 3B Jose Brito. Gonzalez’s single brought in both Cabrera and Noris.� Brito scored on RF David Rubinstein’s sacrifice fly, and the Power were back in the game, at 8-5.
Two home runs gave them the lead in the 7th.� With one out, Chambers blasted a solo home run.� Baker followed the homer with a double, and Hernandez walked.� Cabrera singled, but Hernandez was forced out at second base on the throw in from right field.� Noris lined a 3-run homer, bringing in Baker and Cabrera with him, and the Power were ahead, 9-5.� Cabrera added an insurance run in the top of the 9th, when he doubled, and advanced to third on a fielding error, then scored on Brito’s RBI single.
Marc Baca finished the 5th inning, then pitched 2 scoreless innings, allowing a single and two walks.� He earned the win, because he was the pitcher of record when the Power took the lead in the bottom of the 7th.� Gabriel Alvarado earned his 3rd save with 2 scoreless innings, allowing 3 hits and a walk.
