If a player is out for the season, he will be removed and everyone below him will move up a spot. Removing these guys doesn’t mean they have lost prospect status. Indianapolis lost 10-2 to Louisville on Wednesday afternoon.
Max Moroff led off the game with a home run, his first with Indianapolis this season. After that hit, Indianapolis didn’t pick up another until a Jordan Luplow single in the sixth inning. Their next run would come in the eighth inning when Luplow doubled, scoring Christopher Bostick, who had a single and a walk. Pablo Reyes had two hits. Indianapolis went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position and they stranded nine runners.
Starter Austin Coley had a 9.00 ERA coming into the day. It went up after he allowed six runs on eight hits and a walk in four innings. He was relieved by Damien Magnifico, who allowed one run over three innings. Jesus Liranzo made his Triple-A debut and retired the side in order in the eighth before allowing a three-run homer in the ninth. Those were the first runs he allowed all season. Liranzo tossed 12 shutout frames with Altoona.

Altoona lost 9-3 to Bowie.
Pedro Vasquez made his fourth start of the season tonight and it did not go well. He lasted five innings, but ended up allowing seven earned runs on 11 hits and a walk. He gave up five runs in the second inning, then another two in the fifth. Geoff Hartlieb and Bret Helton each allowed a run.
The Curve scored two runs in the second inning on a single from Will Craig, double from Jordan George and RBI singles from Logan Hill and Stephen Alemais. In the fifth they added another run when Alemais led off with a double and scored on a Bralin Jackson single. George and Alemais each had two hits. Ke’Bryan Hayes had a single and two walks. Jackson had two outfield assists.

Bradenton won 7-6 in ten innings.
Starter Eduardo Vera was supposed to make a start on Saturday, but that got rained out. He warmed up before the game on Sunday and then that game was rained out too, so he ended up being pushed back until today. Vera had a streak of seven straight outings with at least six innings, the longest in the system, coming into this game. He went beyond that to extend the streak on Wednesday, allowing three runs on eight hits in eight innings. He had no walks, three strikeouts, a 9:4 GO/AO ratio and he needed just 82 pitches (62 strikes) to get through his day. He now has a 2.95 ERA in 58 innings this season.
Matt Eckelman came on for the save and the first four batters reached against him, with two runs scoring, before he retired the next three batters in order to send it to extra innings. Eckelman ended up getting the win when Bradenton put up two runs in the tenth and Ronny Agustin got the save.
The Marauders got solo homers from Albert Baur and Hunter Owen. For Baur, who also tripled and walked, it was his seventh home run of the season. He now has a .346 average. Owen, who is hitting just .176 this year, hit his third homer. Jared Oliva hit his tenth double, Adrian Valerio his eight double and Arden Pabst doubled for the seventh time. Alfredo Reyes had two hits, scored two runs, stole two bases and walked once. He now has 12 steals.

West Virginia lost 6-5 to Columbia on Wednesday morning.
Starter Gavin Wallace was limited to one inning plus one batter in the second during his last outing due to rain. So he was fresh for Wednesday morning and he had a solid performance, going six innings with two runs on six hits and one walk. He struck out two batters, posted a 9:4 GO/AO ratio and threw 55 of 83 pitches for strikes. Unfortunately for West Virginia, Beau Sulser had a rare bad outing, allowing four runs in the seventh to take the loss.
Calvin Mitchell had a strong game on offense to continue his terrific season. He hit his sixth homer, and also added a single and two walks. Mitchell also picked up an outfield assist. He now has a .319 average to go along with 20 extra-base hits. Brett Pope, who just joined the Power over the weekend, hit a two-run homer and drew two walks. Rodolfo Castro, who had two doubles on the season coming into this game, doubled his double total with two today. He also picked up his third stolen base and drove in a run.
