Endy Rodriguez homered for Indianapolis on Wednesday night, playing in his second rehab game at the Triple-A level. Rodriguez went 2-for-5 with the homer and three RBIs.
The first hit from Rodriguez was a two out RBI single in the third inning, scoring Alika Williams from second to give Indianapolis a 2-1 lead. The homer was hit at 110.7 MPH in the seventh inning. Another two out hit, this two run shot extended the Indianapolis lead to 6-2.
Rodriguez played a complete game at first base, one day after he caught a complete game behind the plate. He’s gone 4-for-9 at the plate in his first two rehab appearances with Indianapolis.
The Triple-A season ends this week, and the Major League season ends next week. There’s a chance that Rodriguez could return to the big leagues for a few games at the end of the season.

Yean Debut: Right-handed pitcher Eddy Yean was recently added to the Indianapolis roster, and made his Triple-A debut last night with a scoreless inning, striking out two and walking one. Yean is the remaining member of the Josh Bell trade return, with a chance for a future in the majors as a reliever. Yean threw four pitches in last night’s outing, led by a 96 MPH sinker that touched 97.1 and had two whiffs and three called strikes (50% CSW). He paired that with a changeup that he threw five times at an 85.1 MPH average, with three called strikes for a 60% CSW. He also threw two low-80s sliders and one four-seam at 96.6 MPH, resulting in his only ball-in-play. Throwing the sinker and changeup for strikes, while throwing those pitches a combined 84% of the time, and getting swing and miss on the 96 MPH sinker, is a promising Statcast debut.
