Published:

Bubba Chandler carried a perfect game into the sixth inning on Tuesday night. Making his sixth start at the Triple-A level, Chandler struck out ten in six shutout innings.

The right-hander went five perfect frames to start his night, including striking out the side in the second, and adding two more strikeouts in each the fourth and fifth innings. Chandler struck out the first batter of the sixth, and got a fly out, before allowing a single to end his no-hit bid. He walked two in a row, before getting his final strikeout of the game.

Chandler threw his fastball 67% of the time on Tuesday night. He got 10 whiffs on 28 swings against the pitch, with 10 called strikes for a 34% called and swinging strike rate. The pitch averaged 97.5 MPH and touched 99.1 MPH.

In his six starts at the Triple-A level, Chandler has a 1.59 ERA in 34 innings, with a 46:13 K/BB. He’s the number one prospect in the system, due to his mix of above-average to plus stuff, and his improved control this season.
