Pirates Prospect Watch: Quinn Priester Looks Good in Latest Rehab Start

Published:

Quinn Priester made his second rehab appearance on Tuesday night for the Indianapolis Indians. Priester threw five innings, allowing one run on three hits, with no walks and six strikeouts.

Priester’s sinker sat 92.9 MPH, with five whiffs on 15 swings. He picked up two whiffs on the slider, three on the changeup, and one each on the curveball and four-seam. He was also throwing four of his pitches for strikes, leading to a 31% called/swinging strike rate or higher on everything but the curveball.

This was the second rehab appearance for Priester. He went four innings last week, allowing two runs on five hits, with no walks and one strikeout. His lone run in this game came off a solo homer in the third inning. He was supported by three home runs from Indianapolis.
