Prep Catchers aren’t the best investment but atleast they did something noteworthy on the UDFA market this year.

Gallo has some upside as a RP too. He’s tall(6’6), high waisted, long limbs. He’s what you want them to look like.

He was good out of the Pen for Miami in a tough ACC conference(it’s the SEC and ACC and then everyone else. There is no power 5 in College Baseball). He’s still young for a college draftee too with some projection left.

Dude is a high school kid who plays a premium defensive position, has the phsical build and stats of a guy who can hit for power, doesn’t seem to have major swing and miss red flags with his swing yet he signs as an undrafted free agent three weeks after the draft. Seems very unusual but absolutely welcomed.

unexpected, but i’ll take it!

pretty good scouting report for scherrer

Did not look like a 1.80 pop time – more like 2.1. Maybe it’s just the video, but what he does from here forward will really be the key.

Seems like he would have been served to go to college and try again in a couple of years.

Interesting they were able to sign a nondrafted highschooler. I’m assuming he got a chunk of the leftover bonus pool money.
