The Pittsburgh Pirates signed seventh round pick Jaden Woods out of Georgia, giving them five draft signings. You can follow all of the latest additions on the Draft Pick Signing Tracker.

7th Round: Jaden Woods, LHP, Georgia

The lefty worked as a starter with Georgia, with a 5.77 ERA in 48.1 innings, along with 62 strikeouts and 25 walks. He works 92-96 MPH out of the bullpen, and a bit lower as a starter. He’s got an inconsistent slurve which can be average-to-plus, and a fringe changeup. His control has been fringe, but improved during the Cape Cod league in 2022.

A lefty with the chance for an above-average fastball and an average or better breaking pitch, he could make the majors as a reliever. He would need an improved changeup to remain in the rotation. Woods signed for the full slot amount of $273,800, according to Jim Callis.
