Miguel Yajure had a rough night on Wednesday, giving up five runs in the first and two more in the third before leaving with one out. He had a 6.10 ERA coming into the day and it went up to 8.22 by the end of the night. Travis MacGregor got the final two outs of the third, but his night was cut short due to a rain delay. When played resume in the fourth, Matt Eckelman took over and allowed one run over three innings of work. Hunter Stratton tossed two scoreless innings, as Indianapolis lost 8-3. Rodolfo Castro hit his ninth homer, which was the first run of the game. Bligh Madris had two singles, including one that drove in the second run for the Indians. Indianapolis had one walk and 15 strikeouts. Greg Allen went 0-for-2 before leaving after the long rain delay.

Kyle Nicolas got the start on Wednesday afternoon and last 2.2 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks, while throwing 31 of 63 pitches for strikes. He now has a 4.27 ERA in 52.2 innings, with 64 strikeouts. Bear Bellomy followed with a strong performance, tossing 3.1 scoreless. Brad Case was next and he tossed two shutout innings. Tyler Samaniego has been strong this year, but he gave up two runs in the top of the ninth to break a 3-3 tie, leading to an Altoona loss. Matt Fraizer had three hits and drove in a run. He hit his 15th double and stole his 14th base. Fabricio Macias had two hits, including his first double with Altoona. He drove in two runs. Connor Scott had two walks and a run scored. Liover Peguero stole his 20th base.

Greensboro got a decent start from Nick Garcia, highlighted by his nine strikeouts in five innings, but they got blown out by Brooklyn on Wednesday afternoon, losing 9-0. Garcia allowed two runs on five hits and no walks. His ERA stayed the same before/after this game, sitting at a 3.59 mark in 72.2 innings, with 69 strikeouts and a 1.16 WHIP. Ricky DeVito had a wild outing, giving up two runs in 1.2 innings on three walks, a hit batter and a wild pitch. Denny Roman gave up most of the damage, allowing five runs, while recording one out. Oliver Mateo had three strikeouts, a hit batter and a walk in a scoreless eighth. The offense slept in and missed the game. The Grasshoppers had four hits, all of them singles, along with a caught stealing and a GIDP. They had just one at-bat all game with a runner in scoring position.

Bradenton went down 3-0 in the top of the first, but they won it 5-4 on a walk-off hit. Starter Joelvis Del Rosario had a tough first, giving up three earned runs. He settled down to get three innings in before handing the ball off to Sergio Umana, who lowered his ERA to 1.01 with three shutout frames. Jack Hartman was scoreless inning the seventh and Johan Montero sent it to the tenth with two shutout innings. Wilkin Ramos gave up an unearned run in the tenth, then ended up with the win. Bradenton got their first run in the first on a Rodolfo Nolasco sacrifice fly. They added a run in the second on a bases loaded walk to Tsung-Che Cheng. Norkis Marcos tied the score in the sixth with an RBI single. In the tenth, back-to-back RBI singles by Nolasco and Juan Jerez led to the walk-off win. Jerez finished with three hits on the day. Jase Bowen had two hits. Maikol Escotto took the golden sombrero with four strikeouts. He’s still hitting .308 with an .895 OPS in his limited time with Bradenton.

Game Recap:
The Pirates won 7-3 in a seven inning contest on Wednesday morning. Cristopher Cruz started and allowed one run in three innings, working around three hits and three walks. Joaquin Tejada also allowed one run over three innings, which earned him the win. Sebastian Rodriguez came on to finish the game, but he left after walking two batters, so Miguel Diaz picked up the final three outs. Braylon Bishop had a nice game, collecting three hits, including his second double. He scored a run and had an RBI. He’s now hitting .304 with an .897 OPS. Jesus Castillo has been one of the best hitters in the league and he continued that in this game, going 2-for-3, with a run, walk and his fifth stolen base. He’s batting .411 with a .914 OPS. Ronny Sanchez had the big hit in this game, hitting a three-run triple in the first inning. Rafael Escalante had a double, two runs, two RBIs and two walks.
