Connor Scott 0-for-3

Jared Triolo 0-for-3, BB, SB

Matt Frazier 0-for-4

Game Recap:

Carmen Mlodzinski had an outstanding performance on Wednesday after a rough start to the game. The first batter of the game reached on an error, then he served up a home run to Pirates all-time great John Nogowski. That was the end of the scoring, as he recorded 18 outs (eight by strikeout) while allowing just three more base runners. It was his first win of the season and he lowered his ERA to a 4.17 mark in 54 innings. Tahnaj Thomas allowed one run in two innings, and Bear Bellomy tossed a scoreless ninth to close out an 8-3 victory.

Matt Gorski tripled in the fourth inning and as he was pulling up to third base, he suffered some sort of lower left leg injury that required him to be carted off the field. There was no video of the injury and no play at third base, so it was just a freak injury while slowing down his running. That brought in the first two runs for Altoona. A sacrifice fly by Jared Triolo gave the Curve a lead, then Andres Alvarez singled home a run. He also brought in the fifth run with a single. Two runs then scored on a wild pitch and throwing error combo, which occurred on a strikeout. The final run scored on Blake Sabol’s eighth homer.
