Travis MacGregor
The Altoona Curve’s bullpen had to step up on Friday night after probable starter Carmen Mlodzinski was placed on the injured list. After Zach Mason pitched the first two innings, Travis MacGregor came in and pitched four shutout innings, allowing two-hits, while striking out eight batters.

MacGregor, 24, had a rough month of April, posting a 9.28 ERA in 10 2/3 innings. He’s been much better in May, allowing just one run in 9 1/3 innings, while striking out 13.
Cal Mitchell
There is an argument to be made that Cal Mitchell has been the most consistent position player the entire season, getting of to a great start and carrying that momentum into May.
Mitchell let it fly.
Mitchell has hit to a tune of .312/.387/.548 with five home runs now after hitting two on Friday night, one of which put the Indianapolis Indians in the lead during extra-innings.
Cal says good night.
After rising to the challenge in Double-A, Mitchell has continues to develop his approach, with his strikeout rate even lower in the early stages of 2022 (13.2%).
Aaron Shackelford
The Curve offense took a while to get things going on Friday, as they it took them till the seventh inning to get their first hit. Thankfully, the pitching staff was up to the challenge and kept them in the game, allowing for Aaron Shackelford to win the game via a walk-off infield single.
