Welcome to the Pirates Prospects daily video rundown, where we pull some of the top videos of the Pittsburgh Pirates across the internet.

Daily Video Rundown

Ji-Hwan Bae

Going into Wednesday, Ji-Hwan Bae had not collected a hit in five straight games, going a combined 0-for-18. He got a hit that night, and then five more on Friday, going 5-for-6 against the Iowa Cubs.

With two doubles and a home run, Bae doubled the amount of extra-base hits he had on the season and his now batting .270 with Indianapolis. Speed is his greatest asset, and he put it on display with two infield hits.

Matt Gorski

Starting the season with Greensboro again, Matt Gorski is starting to show it was more due to a crowded outfield in the system than to his talent. He’s cut his strikeout rate down by 10% from last year and currently leads the Grasshoppers in home runs, RBIs and stolen bases.

He tied the game up here in the third with a RBI single, later hitting a home run to right center as a part of a back-to-back with Henry Davis.

Henry Davis

Speaking of Davis, he hit a three-run bomb to give the Grasshoppers the lead at the time. Davis is looking every bit of a guy who was taken first overall and his quickly showing he’s ready to advance beyond High-A.

Anthony began writing over 10 years ago, starting a personal blog to cover the 2011 MLB draft, where the Pirates selected first overall. After bouncing around many websites covering hockey, he refocused his attention to baseball, his first love when it comes to sports. He eventually found himself here at Pirates Prospects in late 2021, where he covers the team’s four full season minor league affiliates.
