The following is part of our simulation of the 2020 Pittsburgh Pirates season, using Out of the Park Baseball (OOTP). We simulate the season each day, as it was originally scheduled, and with no input from any of us, all to give you a Pirates team to follow this year. You can follow the simulation by inning and make it seem like a game, or you can skip to the end and find out what happens.

Carpenter grounded out to the pitcher. Pillar doubled on a line drive to left-center. Flaherty grounded out back to the mound. Molina reached on an error by Hayes, with Pillar scoring. Wong singled to center, moving Molina to third. Bader doubled on a line drive to right-center, scoring two. Goldschmidt singled to right, scoring Bader. Blake Weiman came on in relief. Miller grounded out to second.
Frazier singled on a line drive to left. Hayes flew out to center. Stallings doubled on a line drive to right-center, scoring Frazier. Riddle flew out to left. Weiman singled, with Stallings scoring. Dyson popped out to short.

3rd Inning
DeJong doubled on a fly ball to right. Carpenter struck out. Pillar flew out to left. Flaherty singled, scoring DeJong. Molina grounded out to third.
Flaherty retired the Pirates in order with three fly outs.

Wong singled on a line drive through the left side. Bader struck out. Goldschmidt struck out. Miller grounded out to second.
Frazier struck out. Hayes flew out to right. Stallings flew out to center.

DeJong led off with a walk. Edgar Santana entered in relief of Weiman. Carpenter walked. Pillar struck out. Flaherty doubled to center, scoring DeJong. Molina doubled to left-center, scoring two. Wong tripled to center, scoring Molina. Bader grounded out to third, scoring Wong. Goldschmidt grounded out to first.
Riddle flew out to right. Kevin Kramer entered as a pinch hitter and doubled to right. Guillermo Heredia replaced him as a pinch runner. Dyson popped out to third. Reynolds grounded out to the pitcher.

Richard Rodriguez enters the game for the Pirates. Miller was hit by a pitch. DeJong singled on a grounder to right. Carpenter grounded into a 4-6-3 double play. Pillar grounded out to short.
Polanco singled to right. Bell grounded into a 4-6-3 double play. Frazier struck out.

7th Inning
Flaherty popped out to first. Molina flew out to right. Wong flew out to center.
Hayes singled on a line drive to right-center. Stallings struck out. Ryan Helsley enters in relief. Riddle is hit by a pitch. Kevin Newman enters as a pinch hitter and pops out to first. Dyson flew out to left.
Cardinals 12, Pirates 2
8th Inning
Dovydas Neverauskas enters in relief. Bader pops out to the catcher. Goldschmidt grounds out to second. Miller flew out to left.
Reynolds grounded out to short. Polanco struck out. Bell struck out.

DeJong flew out to right. Carpenter doubled on a line drive to center. Tyler O’Neil enters as a pinch hitter and doubles, scoring Carpenter to make the score 13-2. Dexter Fowler enters as a pinch hitter because the Cardinals are annoying in all universes. He strikes out. Molina flies out to right.
John Gant comes in to close out the 11 run lead. Fowler remains in the game in right to provide the defense. Frazier flies out to right. Hayes flies out to right. Seriously though, this is very realistic feeling. Stallings walks. Riddle doubles to right-center, moving Stallings to third. Christian Walker enters as a pinch hitter and grounded out to third.
