Winter Leagues: Robbie Glendinning Leads His Team to Victory with Ninth Inning Grand Slam

In Australia, Robbie Glendinning went 2-for-5 with his sixth double and his third home run. The homer was a ninth inning grand slam off of 12-year MLB veteran Peter Moylan and it broke a 3-3 tie. He’s hitting .326/.367/.652 in 12 games.

Jerrick Suiter had his best game through three weeks of winter ball. He went 2-for-2 with a two-run homer. He also drew a walk. The home run was his first of the winter and came off of Josh Collmenter, who has seven seasons of big league experience. Suiter is batting .297/.366/.405 in 11 games.

Ji-Hwan Bae went 0-for-4 with a walk and a run scored. He is batting .270/.386/.541 through 11 games.

In Puerto Rico, Chris Sharpe went 1-for-2 with a single and an RBI, before leaving for a pinch-hitter in the sixth. He’s hitting .245 through 16 games, with a double, triple, no homers and eight walks.

Ike Schlabach tossed a scoreless eighth inning, allowing one runner on a hit batter, while picking up one strikeout. He has a 2.70 ERA and seven strikeouts in 6.2 innings over seven appearances.

In Mexico, Randy Romero came in as a defensive replacement in center field in the eighth inning. He has played in three straight games, but hasn’t had a plate appearance in any of them. Romero is batting .185/.214/.222 in 21 games.
