Published:

Rawlings Sports announced the three finalists for each Gold Glove in the American and National Leagues on Thursday afternoon. The Pittsburgh Pirates are represented on that list by second baseman Adam Frazier.

Frazier posted an 0.8 dWAR according to Baseball-Reference. In 142 games at second base (133 starts), he had a .989 fielding percentage, committing six errors in 555 total chances. Among NL second baseman, he ranked second in fielding percentage, fourth in range factor/9IP, fourth in putouts, fourth in assists, fourth in double plays and third in total zone runs.

Frazier’s competition at the position consists of Ozzie Albies of the Atlanta Braves and Kolten Wong of the St Louis Cardinals. Albies had a 1.0 dWAR and led the league in putouts, assists, fielding percentage and double plays. Wong had a 1.7 dWAR and led the league in range factor/9IP and total zone runs. DJ LeMahieu won for NL second baseman in 2017 and 2018 (also in 2014) but he played in the AL this year.

Winners will be announced on November 3rd at 7 PM on ESPN.
