Richard Rodriguez and Jose Osuna Return; Kyle Crick Starts Serving Suspension

The Pittsburgh Pirates activated right-handed pitcher Richard Rodriguez from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday afternoon. To make room on the 25-man roster, reliever Montana DuRapau has been optioned to Indianapolis. The Pirates also announced that Kyle Crick will begin serving his three-game suspension tonight. Jose Osuna’s five-game suspension expired last night and he is back with the team today.

Rodriguez missed exactly ten days with right shoulder inflammation. He gave up three runs in his last outing on August 9th, while recording just one out. He has a 3.72 ERA in 48.1 innings, with 41 strikeouts and a 1.39 WHIP over 54 appearances this season.

DuRapau made two appearances during his two days with the Pirates, mopping up the final inning in the loss on Sunday, then he gave up three runs over two innings last night. In 13 appearances with the Pirates, he has a 7.56 ERA and a 1.92 WHIP in 16.2 innings, with 21 strikeouts.
