The Baltimore Orioles announced that they have traded right-handed pitcher Yefry Ramirez to the Pittsburgh Pirates for a player to be named later or cash. He was designated for assignment on May 22nd. To make room on the 40-man roster, Jesus Liranzo has been designated for assignment. Ramirez has been assigned to Indianapolis.

The 25-year-old Ramirez has pitched parts of 2018-19 in the majors with the Orioles, posting a 6.07 ERA and a 5.48 FIP in 75.2 innings, with 1.59 WHIP and 73 strikeouts. When he didn't make it as a lefty pitcher with an 80+ MPH fastball and a slider that needed work, John turned to covering the game, eventually focusing in on the prospects side, where his interest was pushed by the big league team being below .500 for so long.
