PITTSBURGH — For the first time in 2018, Andrew McCutchen is taking the field at PNC Park.
The longtime Pirates outfielder returned to Pittsburgh Friday with the San Francisco Giants. He still maintains his home in Pittsburgh, so he got to spend the night in his own bed, with only a brief interruption from his son, Steel, before coming to his former place of work to prepare for tonight’s game.
Here’s McCutchen’s full comments to the assembled media:
ON THE MEND
Josh Harrison took batting practice for the first time, testing out his healing right hand. He’s been out of action since April 15 and is expected to be another two and a half weeks out from a return, but the fact that he’s already handling a bat could be a sign that he’s closer to returning than expected.
