Site Updates: Only a Few Days Left For Students and Teachers to Get a Discounted Subscription

Published:

Throughout the month of January, we have been offering discount subscriptions for teachers and students. There are only a few more days remaining to claim your discount.

Students and teachers can get a one year subscription for just $19.99, which is over 40% off the regular price. There is a limit of one discount year per person. This offer is available to all current subscribers as well. If you are a teacher or a student and a current subscriber, you can purchase a discount one year extension, which will be added to the end of your current subscription.

We decided to do this discount as a spin-off of our Pay It Forward program. That program allows people to purchase subscriptions for students, teachers, and people in very important professions that might not be able to purchase a subscription themselves. The student and teacher subscriptions always get claimed within minutes of being posted, making it almost impossible to get the deal unless you’re on the site at the right time the offer is posted.

I wish I could give free subscriptions to all students and teachers, but that wouldn’t be possible. The next best thing is this discount, giving students and teachers the lowest price we’ve ever offered.

To get your discount, email me at tim@piratesprospects.com with verification that you are a current student or a teacher (typically a photo of your ID card works). I will then send you a code that will allow you to purchase your discounted subscription.

Sponsorship Opportunities

We’re going to be adding some site sponsors for the upcoming season. We’re looking to avoid ad networks, which slow sites down considerably, and which often have very intrusive ads. Instead, we’re looking for local companies in the Pittsburgh area, or any of the minor league towns (Indianapolis, Altoona, Bradenton, Charleston, Morgantown, Bristol).

The Pirates are heading for a rebuilding year, putting more focus from Pirates fans on this site. We’ve seen a big increase in subscriptions since the Gerrit Cole and Andrew McCutchen trades, along with a big increase in traffic to the site over the last month.

With Spring Training and the season approaching, that site interest will only increase, and the traffic will go up. To get information on how to become a sponsor on the site, send an email to tim@piratesprospects.com.

Upcoming Articles

I did a lot of interviews during mini-camp earlier this month, setting up for a lot of individual articles. That was followed by the two big trades, which led to a lot of analysis about the direction of the team. The trades were followed by prospect ranking season, with a lot of lists coming out.

In the upcoming week, we will start rolling out some of those individual player articles, with a Tyler Glasnow article being one of the first on the list.

The 2018 Prospect Guide

The 2018 Prospect Guide will be released in full right at the start of Spring Training. The book will include information on every prospect in the system, with our final top 50 prospect list, and other useful information.

You can currently purchase the eBook, which includes the early top 50. The eBook is just $19.99, and that price includes the future update to the full book.

We are also releasing a limited amount of paperback books. Those will be shipped out when the full book is released in a few weeks. I’m expecting that those won’t be available for purchase after the book is released, so to guarantee your copy, you should order before the book comes out.

Top Prospect subscribers get a discount on either book, using the code TOPPROSPECT18.
