AFL Recap: Two Hits for Logan Hill; Mitch Keller Receives Some High Praise

The Glendale Desert Dogs took on Salt River on Thursday afternoon. Logan Hill was the lone Pirate in the lineup on this day. The game went into extra innings, where Salt River pulled out a 6-3 victory. Glendale is now 8-12 with ten games left in the season.

Logan Hill batted seventh on Thursday. He singled to lead-off the third inning, but was picked-off of first base. Hill singled on a ground ball to left field in the fourth, driving in a run to break a 1-1 tie. He popped out to first base in the sixth inning. Hill struck out swinging in the eighth inning, leaving him 2-for-4 on the day. He broke a 1-for-22 slide yesterday by hitting a double and drawing a walk. Hill now has a .200 average in 13 games.

** Mitch Keller got some recognition on Thursday afternoon. Jim Callis from MLB Pipeline rated the best tools among players selected for the Fall-Stars game on Saturday night. He named Keller as having the best fastball and the best control, while giving him an honorable mention for the best curveball. The game will be shown live on MLB Network on Saturday at 8 PM and we will have a recap posted here afterwards. Kevin Kramer will also take part in the game.
